Hello all, i have a grey turner desk mic, probly older version, it came with a din plug, worked great on my realistic trc 451,i removed the din plug, tryed wiring it for the commom 4 pin cobra/ranger/superstar radio's & i can get it to kep up,but no audio comes out of it at all,i cant figure it out, tryed every possible wiring code, 1 of the wires i notice is the color PURPLE which i notice most turners do not have that color, maybe an early model, unless the mic element coincidentally went bad when i decided to rewire the mic, which i doubt happened, CAN IT BE THAT TURNER MIC JUST ISNT COMPATIBLE WITH TODAY'S NEWER RADIO'S ? AGAIN IT WORKED FINE WITH THE DIN PLUG IT CAME WITH WHEN I USED IT ON MY TRC 451, THANX IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO..... |

Do a google search for cbcintl , he has great info to hook up any type of mic to any radio, very easy to follow and don't forget to check the switch on the bottom of the mic for relay or electronic. Bob Robert L. Spicer The days of radio are just beginning!

Yea Captain,i checked the website, also emailed the gentleman,he referred me back to the page on mic's,i emailed him again,no further response, the microphone wiring for the turners on that page still does not answer my question of why 1 of the color wires are PURPLE in the mic, i think thats why im only getting a carrier and no audio when trying to wire it for a common 4 pin,im thinking the mic was wired up differently/internally at some point to accomodate a 5pin din plug |
