I have an old Realistic pwr mic that uses a 7v mercury battery. Can't get those anymore. Would the 6v or 7.5v alkaline work? Northern Nevada CEF#1019 Doug

Do a Google search for: TwinPoint/Workman T175 7 volt battery. Product Description: Works on some of the older power mics like Turner M+2 and Astatic D104, Older Realistics and Cobra Power mics. Hope this helps. George/KI4NBE/Starface CEF Ø476/CVC ØØ14/CEF HAM Ø181 CEF Southeast Net Controller

Thats too funny!! I was told at a battery shop in Reno that the 7volt was no longer made. I took it as gospel !! and I never even looked any further. oops !! I will order one with the CS-400 coax after I get a question answered I posted in the Ask a tech forum. Thanks, George & Tech291 Northern Nevada CEF#1019 Doug

Me, I just rewired my RS power mic so that it picked power form the radio I was using in on, which just happens to be an IC-706. I had noticed Copper had the required battery, but "free" power seemed a nicer way to go.. Simon Tech237 N7AUS

Simon/Tech237, Thank you for the advice. The battery is already on its way. This is on an old 40+ ch Midland 77-888, which is a back up radio to my other back up radio. Thanks Again Northern Nevada CEF#1019 Doug

I use five of the 357 and use heat shrink tubing to hold them together. HARVE UNIT199 CEF0210/CVC#018/HAM#010 Midwest 10 Meter Net Controller

I usually make my own too but they will lose connectivity after a while so you have to take it apart and clean the contacts. Bob Robert L. Spicer The days of radio are just beginning!

put a dab of No-lox between the batteries and you won't have any problems. |
