hmmmmm......do you know what the parts you are looking for look like? i don't believe the pluto has any pics on the internet, but if you check out a dx88hl, it's pretty much the same. AND, it specifically tells you what to adjust and to where. what is the reason you want to turn it down for? to run an amp? lessen splatter, tvi? mic gain will lower SSB power output, to run a particular amp, you'd adjust the AM hi or Lo variable pot to the carrier you want. following is how & what to adjust in general, but without knowing the end result you're after, can't give any more specifics.
vr12 i believe is labeled on the board as 'ALC' & you adjust it for sideband output, with a signal generator or a whistle til the output stops increasing, around 25 watts give or take. don't just crank it all the way up, when output doesn't increase anymore, stop turning.
vr13 & vr16 are the high & low power (DEAD KEY) for AM, on the board they may say Lo, Hi, AM Lo, Lo AM Pow or something like that. with the switch on the radio in the 'Lo' position, adjust 16 for 2 watts carrier or so. push switch to hi & adjust 13 to 7-8 watts carrier.
vr14 is labeled as AMC & is internal modulation or mic gain control. you really need someone to listen on another radio, then adjust with STOCK mic & front mic gain control all the way up, til other person says it is about as loud as it will get while remaining crystal clear.
