Hello guys, I posted ealier a problem that I have been having on my 2950. It is under the general tech ?'s and then under trouble with mic on rci 2950. Anyways, it is a stock radio, no tweeking or peeking has been done to it. If I was to get a new mic for it, what would be the best stock mic if I wasn't to get a exact replacement rci up and down , compared to the best power mic replacement. If I was to get a power mic how do I know or where do you usually run the gain on the mic and radio itself.?? Also if anyone knows of one with a echo that would work great. I already have the roger beep on the radio and not sure if I would use the echo but just so I know. Thank you to eveyone for you help. Talk to you later....

i have a 2950 that i use an Aries DM452 mic on and get great reports on AM & SSB. on Am i run some echo at times and also on SSB when dx is rolling i add just a slight touch of reverb. i have tried the turbo extreme 2018,Astatic 575m6 as well as the d104m6b all with good results but it just seems it sounds better with the Aries DM452. and for under $20.00 you cant beat it. also it seems to be pretty durable no problems after running it for 2 years.on Am i run the echo at the first dot setting and on ssb just bump it on a touch.the best none amplified mic i found was the Skythumper ST-65dx looks like the Road King 56 but has just a touch more audio allthough does not seem to be as durible as the Road king 56. but the audio is great. and super clear on SSb giving great punch.

For an after market Non-Stock DESK mic I would suggest the: Copper Part# J00-02000 JCD-201M Base Microphone
and for a Mobile Mic and if you like using a hand mic I would suggest the: DM 452 SuperStar Power Mic Part# M60-07422 with the Mic Connector Copper Part #C4PRI6.

I personally use both depending on which radio I am using and recommend them.
