i have a jo gunn ground plane, and i have never messed with gamma mathes before.it is the best antenna i ever had but! the swr is 1.5 on channel 40, and 1.8 on 20 and 1.what can i do to get this down? i have played with it alot but i am not good with gamma matches.it is alot of up and down off the roof.and do you think a antenna matcher is required? thank you, jyd |

MOST gamma match have a shorting bar MOVE IT slightly and check the match again ON CHANNEL 20. IF that is going to fix it you should be able to get the match down to under 1.3 : 1 and under 1.5 : 1 across the CB band. The other thing you might try is to make the antenna slightly longer before messing with the match. On 6 since 66

thank you for the info, the instruction wer not right,it said to put the metal strap 43 inches from the base of the antenna.and i could not get a good swr like that,so i went to my buddys house and got a mfj swr analizer and took it up on the roof with me and the metal strap was only supposed to be half that much.now it is 1.0 on 1,20,40. |
