I have an 02 s-10 with a 07 5.7 ltr v8, all ran from computer, i sheilded the comp. with plain old alum foil and grouned the cab bed motor ect. But all welded groung i run a magnum s-9,wilson 5000 roof mount, the new ts dx 1600 and dont bother it one bit, and considering i have two computers running in the truck(i,e retain stock comp to run factory systems like day time running, fuel level ect) But i will say the better you ground any car truck the less of an effect you will have on the computer. Remember ALL CAR TRUCK SUV ANYTHING WITH AN IGNITION WILL CREAT RF HENSE THE WINING IN A CAR STEREO OR CB THAT IS BASICLY RF FROM THE IGNITION AND BELEVE ME THE IGNITION WILL PRODUCE MORE RF ENERGY THAN A PROPERLY GROUNDED SYSTEM!!! the golden screw driver on the golden build radio CEF#0995 RI 421

Mike, I have a 2004 Yukon XL and I have a company 2 way radio that is mounted next to my Magnum 257 against the center console on the drivers side. I haven't had any problems with the on board computer. Now I don't have an Amp or anything like that... well at least in that car I don't anyway... I haven't had any problems in the other car with the on board computer either and in that car I also have a Magnum 257 as well... And I didn't do any extra shielding of the computer either, both vehicles have Wilson 3ft Flex antennas. I did all of the installations myself... and yes after all of these years it's all still working and the vehicles haven't caught on fire... I hope that helps... TomCat in VA CEF217
