I RECENTLY ACQUIRED THIS OLDER BASE TUBE LINEAR AMP, READS MADE IN SCOTTSBLUFF NEBRASKA ON THE FRONT, IT HAS THE LOAD & TUNE KNOBS ON FRONT LIKE MOST TUBE AMPS,AS PER THE WATT METER ITS PUSHING A LITTLE OVER 300 WATTS ON AM WITH ABOUT 4 WATTS IN, I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PIC ON THE WEB REGARDING THIS AMP,IM GUESSING IT WAS MADE IN THE 70'S,DOES ANY1 KNOW IF THIS AMP CAN BE USED ON SIDEBAND,THERE IS NO S.S.B. SWITCH, JUST A HIGH/LOW POWER, ON/STANDBY ,DRIVER TUNE,FRIVER LOAD, ETC, NOTHING ON SSB,ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS AMP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, I HAVE NO SCHEMATIC,MANUAL OR SUCH, I WAS TOLD THE TUBES WERE REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO AND WERE USED BRIEDFLY,THEY LOOK NEW, AMP PERFORMS FLAWLESS ON AM MODE,VERY CLEAN,EXCELEENT CONDITION, WOULD JUST LIKE TO LEARN ANY INFO ON IT, THANX |

Blackjack, According to everything I seen on the internet, the MDX200 is a 20m cw transmitter and it was made in 79. I know ken's electronics has the schematic on it. It also seems like the power output is almost half of what it should be with a 4w input. I think it is going to be a AM only amp, but don't quote me as there are many more techs out there that might know how to add SSB in it. Google "d&a mdx200" and you will see quite a few results. HOPE this helps. Tech565/Ham243 Net and Asst. Net controller CVC#38
