Hi Guys, Just been surfing the Ranger website and came across the TRE 966. Just wondering if they are the same as the old TR 966? Stupid question really but you never know if you don't ask. Horny looking in chrome so is it the same or an update/uprate? I was thinking it would look the goods in the old Millenium Falcon. Regards, Bob. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26

From the Ranger USA Web site: TRE-966FFC The Texas Ranger Elite TRE-966FC is one of the latest radios featuring the "new circuit design" concept by Ranger Communications, Inc. Built with ruggedness, durability and reliability in mind, this model will answer your needs for a high performance radio for those interested in AM only operation. The TR-966FC features Ranger Exclusive new Advanced Noise Filter Circuit for improved signal to noise ratio, providing high noise rejection capability that others just claim they have. This one works! You will instantly notice marginal signals pop in better when you turn on the switch and listen to your reception with a quieter signal. The Advanced Noise Filter circuit de-emphasizes the audio high frequency response in order to increase the signal-to-noise ratio of weak signals. This provides you with the ability to receive those marginal signals with much more clarity and understandability. Combined with the Noise Blanker and the Automatic Noise Limiter, this has to be the quietest mobile stations ever manufactured. Thanks so much Lonnie, Same info i read on the website but just wasn't clued up on the whole shebang. Might just be the perfect replacement for the AX 144, as i don't think the old Ford's wiring harness would handle an export. Great showoff material in chrome too....lol. Regards, Bob.
