thats funny if you look at the board and parts list you will see the items are identical to the 88.and its funny the mod works great on my vr 9000.sonoma.ps some variations due to no mic gain and no rf gain.I use the 88 blue print to repair some of them locally |

the 3900hp converts and tunes the same also galaxy pluto.the 88 converts diffrent clarifier mod is diffrent alot of stuff.check into it a little more.some stuff might be the same,but if you had 3900hp and vr-9000 side bye side with lids off.sombody jump in and give your opinion 307 or 181 |

put a 88 beside the 9000 and you have to hunt to find what is different |

then why do they convert diffrent,clarifier mod is diffrent,i am not a tech,but one would get to the bottom of this issue |

clarifier mod is the same as the 88.as said in earlier notes.at least it works on mine.it was put on test equip today to verify this and it works as it should.my local tech put it on the equip because of this forum to verify it and tracks as should. |

I am like JYD,though be it with the 88 and the 9000 you will find alot of similarities but they are 2 different boards.The 88 is a EPT360014B and the 9000 is a EPT360014C, I had tried a mod on the 9000 that is for the 88 and it didn`t work.THe only thing it changed was making my talkback louder as it wasn`t even audible. The mod was to change R174 from a 10K to a 2.2K, this worked and opened up my talk back. The other was to changeR187 from a 10K to a 2.2K,, I did this and had no audio period, R187 was a 22K not a 10k like the 88. |
