I want to put an 8 pin Kenwood mic on a 5 pin HR2510. But I'm not sure which adapter to buy. I can't find an adapter specific for my application. Will a 5 pin cobra adapter work? Does a stock 5 pin cobra power mic work on a 2510 with out mods?
tnx

Copper sell a 4 pin to HR adapter http://www.copperelectronics.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=29_51&products_id=312. So i take it the wiring is a bit different to a Cobra 5 pin. So then you could run a stock Cobra 4 pin power mic like the CA-75 without having to rewire a plug to run the Kenwood mic. I have seen Kenwood, Yaesu etc adapters advertised i just can't remember where.

Regards,
Bob.

A standard cobra 5 pin mic will not work on a 2510.

Uniden/President HR2510 Standard wiring:
1-Audio
2-Shield
3-Transmit
4-Channel Up
5-Channel Down

An adapter will have to be used or rewire the mic.

I do know that a Kenwood hand mic will be plug and play on the HTX100 so I see no reason why it won't work just fine on a 2510 with the wiring changed.I have one here and if I get some time I will give it a try and let you know what the wiring is.
