I have an OLD Mark Sidewinder 46 SSB radio that I wanted to get running again just for the fun of it. It missing its mic and primary transmit tube (or whatever it is). Any idea of where I might look for parts and a replacement mic for it. Its got a either a .205" microphone plug (it may not be THAT old) or 1/4" plug style. Hard to tell. Anyone up on their old radios? Lucas "Mad Hatter" Sheehan lucassheehan@gmail.com, AM-27.165/27.265 2M-146.840 PDX, Oregon

That plug was widely used on the old relay switch radios MOST ceramic and some high inp dynamic mikes will work. Tubes can be found by searching the internet. There were many types used including 6CX8, 6BA5 5763 just to name a few. You got to also remember to be careful of those old caps in a 40 year old radio.... KABOOM .... LOL they are time bombs so bring it up with a variac transformer . Just something about tubes that many still like .... On 6 since 66

I think I did find the tube on the net and thanks for the info on the mic and especially the caps. I'll be careful. Hopefully it will come back to life. Perhaps I'll talk at ya on it at a net soon, that would be fun. Lucas "Mad Hatter" Sheehan lucassheehan@gmail.com, AM-27.165/27.265 2M-146.840 PDX, Oregon
