Anyone know which pots to turn on the 2950 to adjust the tx and rec freqency + the frequency counter? I have a freind who got his 2985 ligned up and I want to adjust my 2950 to align with his rec and tx frequencies. I plan on having him set his clarifier to 12:00 and then I will transmit a little and he will tell me to tune more or not till I sound good to him. Then I will have him transmit to me on and off as I adjust my rec. till he sounds good. Then I can adjust my counter to match his when I am done doing the other adjustments. Does this sound like a good idea to get my radio close? Thanks |

Thank you 808xyl, I did what you said and searched and found all the info you wanted me to see. I am sorry but I am still unsure, The way I am understanding it L21 is what I adjust on ssb to adjust my transmit freq. till my friend hears me clear. And then adjust L28 to adjust the receive on ssb till my friend sounds clear. Am I correct? Thanks |

Airplane1, Without having your radio properly aligned / tuned to Ranger Factory Specifications I personally would "NOT" recommend adjusting / tunning anything until you are 100% sure that the problem is with your radio and not your friends radio. It takes a lot of equiment and time to properly tune/align a radio to have it transmit and receive on frequency. And with a properly tuned / aligned radio set to Ranger factory specificitons it should need NO ADJUSTMENTS. Sorry but there are no shortcuts. Thanks Lon for your reasoning, I was thinking that also because being unsure and no equipment I might mess up bad. Have a great day |
