I bought my old hr 2510 back from a guy i sold it to last year.I think he turned a pot inside the radio.when the radio is set on the band button from ch 1 to 40 it will go from channel 22 then ch 24 then ch 25 then ch 23 then ch 26 and 27...what do you think he turned in the radio and can i fix it myself? |

hmmmmmmm.......channel 22 is 27.225, channel 24 is 27.235, channel 25 is 27.245, channel 23 is 27.255, channel 26 is 27.265, etc. that is the way the 2510 follows the channels-in frequency order. there is nothing wrong. |

YUP! MOST cpu controlled radios do that. pll-types have the CB order programmed into the chip, cpu types run in freq order. just a carry over from the old 23 channel days. there was a reason they went from 27.225 to 27.255, skipping everything else.....but i'm getting old & don't remember . when they went to 40 channels, there was nothing reserved on those skipped freqs, so they just added 'em back after channel 23 to not mess up the older radios. |

I seen this thread and thought you guys would be able to help me as you are talking about the HR2510. I just got a RCI2950 orange face in mint condition and also a HR2510 in mint condition and both work perfect. I want to keep the one that is known to be better quality built for the long run. Thanks |

The Change was in 1977 and radios HAD to be CERTIFIED ( type accepted ) AFTER Sept 10 1976 to be sold after 1978. Yep those lost frequencies were added back to make the 40 ch radios that replaced the now baned 23's. On 6 since 66

I do most of my talking on SSB. Thanks Patzerozero. I have a sadelta mic hooked to it and it seems like when switching between the 2950 and 2510 people like the 2510 better. Thanks so much, Roger |
