I see a lot of "stuff" out there that can be purchaced for your CB radio to give it that "special" look. Things like jeweled knobs , diamond plate and chrome covers, diferent face plates with pictures on them, colored lights for your meters, microphones that fart etc... Does anyone out there feel that this "stuff" is kind-of, well , STUPID and immature ? I get the impression that there are many companys out there that think that us CB'ers all have a thing for tacky looking junk, lots of "bling" appeal (shinny flashy things). (this is unfortunate, in my opinion) I guess if you can advertise it someone out there will buy it. I would like to see a CB company produce some "commercial-grade" radios and accessories ! Your opinions? |

IF CBers, as a whole, want companies to take us seriously, we have to take ourselves and the rules seriously first. Will this ever happen?? I doubt it, simply as too many immature CBers do not care. I think some things like face plates and covers could be very useful for someone who wants to tidy up an old worn radio. I've been checking some out but unfortunately there are none that i am after. As for the other **** there are unfortunately a lot of people out there that get a excited from that stuff. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26 269 Hunter Valley NOT allowed to hold a passport....

"I would like to see a CB company produce some "commercial-grade" radios and accessories ! " With DSP filtering and maybe the FCC allow a form of digital radio on top of AM/SSB ? THAT would be nice ..... ALLOW MURS VHF FM CB to be installed on all cb radios give people that along with 27 mhz ... Commercial grade will mean digital and very narrow band in the near future. After 2013 all wideband radio will go away on VHF/UHF so why not upgrade CB into that format too ? On 6 since 66

What i would like to have is a digital radio with remote control. I like copying the mail alot laying down at my sofa. Whenever i go 2-7 on the dial i have to get up and turn the knob. With a remote control i don't have to get up to change the dial :D CEF#1021

I feel the reason you will find this is becuz of :a( short coming's in quality of most so called EXPORT and there four the (bling and other stuff added to radio's) to hide or make up it's short coming's IE drifting , squeals, feedback, plauged with COLD SOLDER JOINT'S so there four we get a influx on cheaply made want to be ham radios that has so much junk in the radio that it is useless in the 10 meter range and every single cb'er has to have the best one on the block(I AM CB ONLY). I myself am guily of this. But never bling, lighted knobs... Maybee a disco ball spinning. And the very sad part about it is we have people filling there soup coolers with gold, we are a socitiy that must posses somthing of equal or greater value and if you cant you BLING IT OUWT!!!!! 421 GOLDEN SCREW DRIVER CEF#0995 NORTH-EAST CEF NET CONTROLLER Channel 13 / 27.115 AM/LSB
