I have a magnum S6 and have been running it in my pickup for about 2 years and this weekend i took it out to see how it performed as a base setup. i ran a 102 inch whip in my truck and on that antenna setup when you take a ohm meter and touch the ground to the center on the coax the meter doesnt move . and everybody knows if you do this same thing on a antron it pegs the meter, i understand this is normal cause both my antrons do this its just the way they are built inside them something to do with a capacitive ground in them or sumthing, but anyways my swr light flashes no matter what on the radio so i have to shut it off in the back. i was wondering if this is fine or normal on this kinda antena setup on this radio.the light never came on in the truck and swrs were 1.5 and with the exact same meter on my base the swr's are 1.2 witch is lower. ive ran it like this for just two nights and so far so good, id just hate to ruin this awsome radio . any help on why this light is flashing with the radio would be greatly appreiciated , thanks all.
