Has anyone tried grounding a mag mount antenna?I know that they are grounded via capacitative coupling, but just wondering if anyone ever tried this? Bob CEF451/VE1CZ Robert L. Spicer The days of radio are just beginning!

like thehobo, bob, i've run a wire from the bolts on my triple mag mount to one of the screws on the roof rack as well as to the inside mount on the rear hatch. to be perfectly honest, i saw absolutely no difference whatsoever in SWR, RCV or XMIT, or even with idiot lights/rfi to or from truck. hence the reason i have yet to 'cut the hole'. the rfi issues that existed with a mere 50-75 watts were almost completely eliminated by chucking the wilson 2k trucker on a radio shack 5" magnet & replacing it with the triple mag & its 'factory' rg8x. tossing out the 8x in favor of 9913 and.....you've heard my mobile i believe |
