I notice Ranger has discontinued the TR696 base. does any manufacturers have any new CB base units coming on the horizon? Or will I have to go to a expanded 10 meter radio?? Tommy~852~CEF 750

Ghost the S-3200B radio that Tech808 is talking about above is a MAGNUM and at 50 and 80 watt models I think you would have a nice talking radio. Tech808 just forgot the Magnum name was all. George CEF#Ø476 KI4NBE Amateur Extra HAM#Ø181 CVC#ØØ14

be glad to see the 80 watt version come out. S-3200's have got to be the most underated radios of all time. i have an older model and its been totaly trouble free. great talker on AM & SSB. i run it thru a 20 year old 1 tube Little Willie amp giving me 85 watts of swing. get great reports local & in DX land when i tell people what type of radio it is they have know idea magnum even made a base. they gott push these radios more. |

I have abunch of high power motaroa pills from when I used to work on them 10 years ago. I want a radio I can change out the end finals with something like MRF-421s,492s,428s or 454s. Oh and by the way what do the numbers below the transisters meen and color dots. Thanks so much. God Bless. Regards Brad. |

Ghost, in the case of motorola rf pills, the small numbers are the batch run and the color dots signify the beta or hfe of the pill.motorolas rf data book has the details.the mrf450 is rated 50 watts at 13.8vdc.would make a nice final for older hr-2510 type radios, similar to what they did with the lincoln. tech291 cef291/cvc6 kc8zpj |
