are the Icom 745's good radios. i want it to talk SSB with it only. is $ 400.00 a good price for a used one. also are there any short commings with this radio any quirks that are a constant problem. i am willing to sell one of my beloved Browning Golden Eagle Mark IV's for one. the radio is from a none smoking invironment has great audio and not a blemish on it.also has owners manual on paper & disc. |

there great on ssb.. almost as good my alinco th77
alinco wins on am and its a little better on the rx
but thats splitting hairs lol.. 95% of all ham gear is made for top ssb performance good luck try reading some reviews from some of guys here that also have ham radio's. good luck |

hey thanks Mrsandman i did pick it up and with out dumping my bird. been loving it i just really do SSB, now so all is good. been getting great reports and folks tell me it sounds much better on SSB from my base then my 2950DX. my next move is to get me general class ticket. |

good luck om the upgrade i put my ic2200h back in the house with a klm 160 amp.. and put my alinco 77 in the car works great with the Wilson 1000 lol.
i have more time to dx in the car than the house |

never mind i switched the radios back lol..
i put up a 10 meter dipole 30' up ..should done it years ago lol |
