Hello , I havent heard of this mic. How does this mic compare to the new astatic desk mic that i am running now on a rci 2980wx? Thanks Jeff PGH PA |

i would think the jcd mike would have a
slight deeper tone.especially on ssb.

Blaster, i have'nt used one of the astatic desk mic's like you have but... i own one of the new jcd-201m desk mic's. I can tell you one thing this bugger is tough on air. made me put my silver eagle on the shelf for show!! It's got all the punch-n-audio you'll need. plus you can run 2 radios off this mic. i run my 696f ssb and my 2980 with it....bad!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hey Dale and gator thanks for the info. I just bought my radio and astatic desk mic about 2 months ago. Just looking for the best i guess and wanted more input than the reviews thats on coppers web page. Its a little more than what i wanted to spent but if it makes a difference it would be worth it. I talked to someone that uses the mic with his rci and said that some people ask if hes on a icom radio.That would be cool because icom sound choice but not in my budget yet. Jeff,
Have you heard what your radio sounds like with the Astatic? Just remember....you might have the best setup you can get, then green eyes set in and someone will tell you it sounds like JUNK. Just because you sound better than them. Just get your Mrs or one of your buddys to yak to you while you are elsewhere....you might be pleasantly surprised. Rangers are very good radios to start with. Might save you a fistfull of dollars too.

That Astatic base mic is a great one blaster if its the 878. First run squeeled lke a pig but the new ones are great. Have had many tell me they think it sounds better than my silver eagle. Listen to the radio yourself with someone on your base and see if you like the sound. I listen to mine with a set of headphones on a cobra handheld cb and adjust my mic like this. |

hey dale, just checking to see what you stayed with on your mic choice. do you know some one close to you that has the jcd mic? if so, give it a try before you buy one. i know for me it was a little hard to bite off that kind of $$ for one but, that's the reason i use it on both of my radios now!!! awesome mic i guarantee!!! good luck |

thats ok gator.no local here with that mic.
if i ever get that mic it will be my last
cause i own most of the mic adpators copper carry so it vwould work on about any radio
for me

Hello All, Thanks for the advice . I havent had a chance to listen to my radio yet to see what it sounds like . I do have a talk back but with the mic turned up the radio sqeals. The mic is the new 878 astaic mic. Every one i do talk to says it is loud and clear. Well I will keep you posted on the out come thanks again Jeff (Blaster Pittsburgh Pa) |

hey dale , I check in on sudays on 36 lsb my # are ww830. I dont know if i can get ya unless condition are good. I just ordered the jcd mic well i guess we see how it is when i get it next week. I am running a rci2980wx with new astatic mic now. What kind of set up to you have dale Thanks Jeff |
