I came across this while i was drunk and bored one night. Apparently it covers all the european band plans including the standard 40 channels and is legal right across europe. Looks like it uses the PC 78 elite cases. Has anyone come across one? It has everything...am,fm,ssb. I was thinking it would be a nice little mobile.

Yep Bob , They are available to buy here in the UK and all across europe , a bit on the pricey side from the UK dealers but can buy them from Holland for a decent price , I have heard that they can be modded to cover from 25 - 30mhz using a jumper mod but have not found any info regarding the mod but might just buy one for the sheer heck of it as it looks nice and they are supposed to be really good so if I do I will post any info on it , one thing I would have preferred would have been chrome bezel , silver faceplate and BLUE illumination . Just found out that the Pres Jackson 2 has got a VOX facility on it with a socket for a seperate vox mic meaning you can either use the stock mic or the vox mic without having to unplug one or the other , WOW that is a good function considering the stoopid laws they have over here in the UK as it ain't gonna be long before they ban talking on radio whilst driving the way they are goin' Tech858/Jim MM0TXO CEF#858 HAM#230 CVC#116 Wavin' a hand at ya' fae Scotland

I forgot to mention the Vox on it Jimmy. There are a few other little features on it too that you don't find in the average CB radio. I copied and pasted the spec's below........ Yes, that's right, this is the only SSB CB radio that meets current regulations and is legal for use in the Country of operation. (For example, France now has legal SSB, so you would set the Country mode to F when using the radio in France) Modes: AM/FM/SSB Frequencies - Multi European Standard (see table below) ASC (Automatic Squelch Control Built-in Vox for Optional Vox Mike SWR-meter built in Backlit knobs & Switches Electret Condenser Microphone ON/Off Volume Adjustable RF Power Squelch Adjustable Mic Gain Adjustable RF Gain VOX Facility (Voice Activated Transmit) Clarifier - Fine - Coarse NB (Noise Blanker) ANL - HiCut Roger Beep F Switch for the 6 European Band Standards Channels Up/Down Channel Selector Channel Display S/RF-PWR meter External Speaker Jack Jack for Optional Vox Mike. Dimensions: 184(W) x 54(H) x 198mm(D) Not including protrusions such as knobs etc. Includes: CB, mounting bracket. standard microphone, microphone clip, power lead, manual Band Plan Chart; EU - 40CH AM 1W / FM 4W / 4W SSB European Union (France for example) E - 40CH AM 4W / FM 4W / 12W SSB Spanish Band D - 40CH AM 1W / FM 4W 80CH / 4W German frequencies EC - 40CH FM 4W European Community Band U - 40CH FM 4W CEPT & 40CH UK Frequencies PL - 40CH AM 4W / FM 4W, -5KHz Polish Band Nice to see that there are actually some NEW ssb transcievers being put out. Oh i almost forgot....talking on a CB whilst driving has been a bookable offence here since the '70's. A couple of mates of mine got done years ago for it. Not really policed too much now as mobile phones are the main target. 200 and something dollar fine and 3 or 4 points on your licence if the gendarmes get you. The Jacko II is now out of production ... I've had mine since 200010 and had to import it from the EU. |
