I have a older Ranger 2995 DX with the fan kit. I've had the radio for five years with no trouble. My question is dose the newer Rangers 2995's have the built in fans like the 2970's. Is there a way to install a built in fan in the older Ranger 2995's? Or is it really necessary with the fan kit installed on the heat sink? Thanks all, and have a nice Christmas. |

Copper sells a fan kit for the older 2995's. http://www.copperelectronics.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=22_55&products_id=393 i THINK the new models have a fan kit installed...but more than likely i am wrong on that. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26 269 Hunter Valley NOT allowed to hold a passport....

Ya I do hear a fan inside my new 2995. When I key up I hear the fan get faster and louder. I love the thing. Can't wait for skip to roll around again. |

Kufbass, Not sure what you are hearing but the Fan Kit for the 2990/2995DX is a Dual Fan Kit that mount's on the OUTSIDE rear of the 2995DX / 2985DX radio.

No it was a internal fan that is on mine. I don't know if the tech where I bought it put it in. I also bought the external fan just recently. I am sure it is a internal fan. |
