Works great good output, Here is the deal my radio will do 40 watts on the meter then when i hook my maverick in line my radio watts drop to 25w can anyone help me on this ? I can turn the btl switch off and it will do about 18 watts,, All of this is with the maverick OFF.Thanks!! |

St1d420, when the amp is off the signal is passing through at least 2 sets of contacts(relays),I would check them first.also if memory serves me there is about a 6 or 8 inch section of rg-8 in the d&a 250 that your sig is passing through which could be deteriorated from age and heat.thats the first couple areas i would check.I'll also pass along the obligatory warning about being careful poking around lethal voltages inside that or any amp. tech291 cef291/cvc6 kc8zpj |

sounds like a question that can not be ansured on here,i have the same thing going on with a 1 tube modulator,25 watts no amp and 15 watts with amp inline.u should notice a drop in your receive to,as am i.i have not started working on mine yet.but he first thing to do is use a emmery cloth in all contacts of the relays.if i figure anything out i will let u know. |

cleaned relays and now it works fine.a little lower out put but when i talk, the little red light always lights up when it is on stand bye. its just robbing me of 1 or 2 watts. |

Thanks guys between bypassing the btl & 40-20/10-15 switches in the back and cleaning the relays got my watts back Thanks thats how we get stuff done!!! |
