Hi everyone. I have a Uniden PC122 that wont transmit or receive. It powers up but the tops of the LEDs on the channel indicator wont light. Should I fix this or trash it? Thanks Ed. |

Could be a number of things, best place to start is at the mic. The 122`s were good little radios,it may be worth fixin |

Thanks Highlander, but I tried 3 different mics. One was brand new. I asked a local cb tech and he just said junk it. (he tried to sell me a new soundtracker)I would hate to do that. It still looks like new. |

Sounds to me the PLL is out of lock. This radio has a preprogramed frec. in the loop if someone messed with the VCO coil,in the wax globb, then it needs realigned.Someone could have tried to expand channels not being sure how to do it.This rad. has a lock detector pin on the chip (upd2824c) which shuts down both tx and rx.See if copper can realign it for you.The tech. in my area charges the cost of a new pc122. |
