I have a friend who wants to use a Boomer Delux 400 on a 510xl, or he also has the option of putting it on a connex 250 or 225???. I know the Boomer 400 is a 4 pill, and I think the connex is a 2 pill amp. Question what one would work best with his 510xl and a 102" whip with a flat SWR? Any good advice would help a lot! |

102" whip & 'flat' swr is a good starting point. not sure about that particular version boomer, they've used 4x 2290, mrf454 & even sd1446 i believe. however it is done, it will work with the little uniden....you may have to internally adjust dead key up or down a bit for optimum performance. it will work with a 'low drive' radio, and should handle 20+ PEP input. should be able to get 60-100 watts dead key & 300-400 PEP from it. |
