Hi I have a question about the C90-05018 Cobra 148 GTL. If I buy from the Copper web site it offers a Align + Tune option. Does this also expand the channels and open the Voicelock(Clairifier)? I am looking to get the 28.300 to 28.500 for 10 meter operation if possible. Also if I were to buy a Galaxy G10-00024 FC347 Plug in Freq Counter could it be wired into the Cobra 148 GTL buy your Techs? |

Mscott1212 Sorry but No, the Copper Tech will not do any modifications that could or would void your factory Cobra warranty. Lon ~ Tech808 ~ N9CEF CEF#808 ~ CEF HAM#001 ~ CVC#002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com

A Cobra148GTL will not expand that far. Why not buy a Magnum 257 and that will solve all your wants??? HARVE UNIT199 CEF210 CVC#18

Hi, I recently bought a cobra 148 gtl from copper. I paid the extra to have it aligned and tuned. I was wondering exactly what copper does when they do this. Great radio it really talks well! I am using this radio as a base and depend on it every day.Hope to own a galaxy soon could you give me an opinion on which base to buy? |

Wouldn't it be great if the radios we purchased from the factory were already aligned to manufaturer specifications. Since we are getting them "new" a person would think that they would be. I am sure there are "reasons" that they are not, but when I buy something from the manufacturer I would think that it would be to specs already. |

Yes it would be nice, BUT when a run/model of radios are being manufactured for a manufacturer at an assembly plant with parts from many different distributors’ they do not have the time to power each radio up and check each radio coming off the assembly line. IE: printed circuit board's are made/manufactured at 1 plant, then control pot's are manufactured at another plant, then meter's at another, then power supplier’s at another, then wiring at another and so on. Very little actual hand's on work is involved with the machinery used now day's in assembly plant's ie: Modern Technology. And there are several different assembly plant's used for the different make's & model's of radio's also depending on the manufactuer. Lon CEF#808~HAM#001/N9CEF CVC#002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com
