I am trying to find some info on a used radio I have just purchased. It is has DX88 below the channel selector. It is very similar looking to a Galaxy DX88HL, Voyage, Mirage or Pluto. The difference is the lower 3 buttons of the 6 button cluster. Mine has an Echo/Tone on the left, Robot in the middle and, +10KHz on the Right. On the top, it has R.B on the left, NB/ANL in the middle and on/off for the frequency counter on the right. It has an American flag faceplate on the front (aftermarket possibly?) and the case is red. There is no serial # plate on it either. I am trying to get an original faceplate and bezel for it as the one on it is damaged. I have contacted Galaxy already. They said it was not one of their models. Any info or ideas you have would be greatly appreciated. |

back in my galaxy days YIKES!!!! of the 80's, i had a VERY EARLY dx88 that had no...coarse clarifier, it had fine for receive only. that radio was disposed of quickly. a mirage 88 shortly after also had some differences as compared to THAT 88, and a 2nd 88 DID have an swr position on the switch-but no calibrate. the cal wires were soldered together & taped up inside the radio. the dealer took that one back & sent me....an hr2510. i've seen a dx88, dx88hl, dx88hml & dx88v. the case & faceplate obviously are aftermarket. quite possibly, a past owner modified the radio to suit their tastes, and had a 'custom' faceplate made-showing the functions they had added or changed. |
