I drive a 10 wheel tanker truck for a living & haven't had a cb in it in quite awhile. I'm probably gonna put my Uniden PC-122am/ssb in but I want a good antenna. I have the mirror mount for the new Freightliners & coax but I would like to hear your recomendations for a good antenna thats gonna get out there as well as have good ears. Needs to be flexable because sometimes on my job I'm backing into bldgs. Oh yea, I'm gonna run it bearfoot too. Thanks |

Personally on my dumptruck, I run a Wilson 2000, with the 5in. shaft, mirror mount, and 9 foot of coax. SWR is dead flat around the standard 40 channels. and as for flexibility, mine usually takes a tree limb smack at least once a day, and after 3 years it's still going strong.. Tommy~852~CEF 750

Thanks for the comments so far. Dale i'm not familiar with the predator. I think i'm too much old school and haven't kept up in several years. I'm amazed at the new radios and equipment thats out there now.Boy! Tommy I like the Wilson 2000. I have been a Wilson fan ever since I bought a set of V Quads many moons ago. My better half is a big K 40 fan. How does the Wilson compare to the K-40? What are your thoughts.BTW I'm really eating this forum up. I feel like I did at 15 when I got my first cb. Thanks guys. |

This is interesting. I went to the k40 website and they have a cut a way view of the Wilson 2000 & the K40 trucker. The K40 was more impressive, but then I started to wonder if they were trying to minipulate the costumer by showing the antenna designed to compete with the larger Wilson 5000. Come to think of it, I think I have a Wilson 2000 around here somewhere. Thanks guys for your input. |

Canon, I drive a Freightliner as well and have used both the Wilson 2000 Trucker(5" shaft) and the Predator 10K. The Predator is BY FAR the better antenna. I can't say enough good things about the Predator 10K. |

For right now I put one of those oil coil antennas on it. I still wish to get a better antenna, but am undecided. Couldn't find the Wilson 2000 but did find the OC antenna. Right now it's doing a decent job. I'll have to check into the Predator 10 K. So much new stuff to learn about. I'm old school. CEF-944 NC-3682 (old November Charlie ssb club)
