i would like to try to set the dk on a cobra 142 without going to a shop,can anyone in here tell me how to do it. i would appreciated very much,its needs to be turned down to at least .5-2.0 max. and thank you very much

808, i know where the mod list is,what i was asking was for someone to tell me what to do because the mod list "Does Not" it just tells you what what diode to cut or remove or which vr to turn and what resistor to put in or take out....

AM Power ~ VR6

This means you adjust VR6 to the dead key power level you want.

Brain Damage

Connect radio to power meter and dummy load , set mic gain to minimum , key radio and adjust the AM power VR to the power output you want to dead key .

i found it back behind the channel selector almost way back in the corner between 2 caps under all the wires in back of radio,got me a 1.5 watt dk.thanks 808 and road warrior134
