What's the easiest way to get rid of, or suppress the alternator whining over my cb? Any suggestions on what type of filter works best? Thanks. |

You need to determine if the alternator whine is being received by the antenna or is the noise coming over the power lead to the radio. Unplug the antenna from the radio and rev your engine. If you still hear the whine it is coming over the power lead and you will need to install a filter on the power lead close as possible to the radio. If you do not hear the whine with the antenna unplugged the antenna is receiving the whine and you will need to install a filter on the alternator itself. The 20 amp power lead filter is available at Radio Shack. The filter for the alternator is a different size and shape and you will need to check around for this filter. |

If your hearing it with the volume turned down try a line filter in the 12 volt line. On 6 since 66
