When it says in the description it can handle 1.5kw, is that RMS or Peak? WILDRAT Mark 27.285MHZ CEF674 / CVC029 RAT's! Mans best friend since the Dark Ages!

I have never seen or used an antenna rated in RMS before as all that I have seen or used have always been rated in PEP (peak). Hope this help's, Lon ~ Tech808 ~ N9CEF CEF#808 ~ CEF HAM#33 ~ CVC#002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com

Do you know what the actual physical difference is between the 1.5kw and the 5kw model V5/8? WILDRAT Mark 27.285MHZ CEF674 / CVC029 RAT's! Mans best friend since the Dark Ages!

Sorry, never had them both side by side to actually measure the exact difference/size in them. As you adjust both for overall length for the frequency you desire to cover from 248" for 26.0 Mhz to 198 1/4" for 33.0 Mhz Maybe someone else can post who has. I know the 1.5kw is fine for what I have, but am wondering if I should spend the extra 20-30 bucks for the 5kw. I guess I am wondering if it might be built a little stronger so it can stand up a bit better to the wind than the IMax did. So if anyone can shed some light it would be appreciated. I have also read the articles on the forum on choosing a antenna also, a couple of times. WILDRAT Mark 27.285MHZ CEF674 / CVC029 RAT's! Mans best friend since the Dark Ages!

no difference in the antenna 'itself', mark. just the feedpoint & wire are different, to handle more power. |
