I think my AR-3500 needs a new mic it has a squeal / buz and if I wiggle the mic wire at the end of the plug it goes away. I want to test this by using a different mic. I have a uniden 510xl would I be able to switch the mic's? They are both 4 pin. or do I need to rewire the uniden mic? I also have some desk mic's laying around to but I would like to try the stock uniden first and if that works then I will order a new one. thanks Mavrick Charlie-Echo-Foxtrot 856 (CEF-856)

Check the wires at plug end. More than likely you have a wire loose or touching another or the plug case. My AR-3500 has a 8 pin plug. HARVE UNIT199 CEF210 CVC18 KB0YVK

Thanks 199, The outer coating is cracked and I can see the inside color coded wires and a uncoated wire. If I were to reawire the plug after cutting off about an inch or so and were very careful not to have any touching that might do the trick? Mavrick Charlie-Echo-Foxtrot 856 (CEF-856)
