Hello. Can anyone make recording with original microphone with TopGun on and off? I want to hear how it works before I will put it in my radio. I must be sure that it is worth modding my radio. Thanks, Mike |

Find someone with a Magnum radio that has this feature factory-installed. It will have a switch on the front panel to enable/disable the TGM. Ask him to talk with it on and then with it turned off. If he has an amplifier, make this ON/OFF comparison with the amplifier turned on. Then you'll know. Better than if I try to tell you. 73 |

Mike, I'm not sure what kind of radio your putting it in, but as for sound on a magnum it doesn't change the tone or pitch of your voice. A buddy of mine and myself both run magnums in our trucks, and at a great distance, the top gun can make the differance on whether we here each other or not. Since it is boosting your modulation it does allow a little more back ground noise in, but by running a good noise canceling mike, its not very much. Now he had a S-9 and I have a 6, but he just got an Omega and the top gun doesn't seem to do much in it, but it is extremely effective in both the 6 and 9. hope this helps. |
