I just received my new mobile antenna. This antenna is 58 inches from the base of the magnet to the tip of the whip, it is 14 inches longer than the previous one . It has a very strong 1 lb magnet and the color is white , I've never owned an antenna with such a strong magnet, almost feels like it will peel the roof off when you go to move it. Results so far show an increase of 2 s units in TX and RX signals, tuning was a snap , not sure what bandwidth it will have but it tunes 40 channels easily .I am hoping that it will also cover above 40 and below 1 but I don't have a radio that will cover anything in that range yet. This antenna looks very well made , all the parts look very sturdy. It is produced be a company in Texas , Fort Worth to be exact. The price was very good $81 Canadian , I bought from a place in Canada. Shipping was fast, ordered it on the 20th and it was delivered today, not via fedex or ups but via regular mail!! I will try it out later this afternoon during a short road trip and report the results later. Bob CEF451 |

Well yesterday I went for a road trip to check out the new antenna. All I can say is that it preformed great, better than my expectations at 30 miles as the crow flys I was able to talk to 2 base stations without any problems at all. 1 station was using a 4 element verticle antenna and the 2nd was using a 5/8 wave vetricle.Signals were great on both ends , no extra power by anyone and no receive preamps. My power was about 20 watts pep from a stock trc 449 , these tests were done on ssb and am . To say the least I am greatly impressed thus far with the performance with this mobile antenna and it looks like it will be a keeper Bob CEF451 |
