hi all am looking for info abut how to stack two 5 element Yagi's mounted over one another can any tell me the distance between two antennas or any good web sit to get more info abut STACKING ??? |

1/2 wave is optimum. Full wave works well too with slightly more gain than 1/2 wave spacing, but does have more downward radiation. |

Another nice thing about stacking antennas is that if done properly you can switch between the two.I have seen this in practise and you would be suprised to see the difference in signals, mostly with skip that has a high angle such as sporatic E skip.A friend of mine did this years ago with 2 yagis for 6 meters and he could use them together or separately to follow the angle that the signals were being propagated. The high angle E skip was often heard better on one or the other of the antennas and the low angle F 2 skip was received much better using both as a phased array. Bob CEF451 |
