I finally got a beam myself last year and love it! Very nice to be able to pull stations in and get out farther. And you can turn your backside to anyone annoying you. You'll enjoy it. |

I wish I could get my beam in the air. Maybe this winter it'll go up. I know I'll like it also. 1861 you going to still use a omni-directional antenna for local use ? If so are you going to put it on another pole or put it on the same tower/pole? WR |

well , the snow finally melted enough where i could get my beam up temporarily . about 30' and stationary pointing southwest , which is where i do most of my dx . i,ll try it like this through the winter and come spring put a rotor on . this seems to be a well made antenna & very easy to assemble . got my SWR right the first time , thankfully . |

See I told ya...it's a great beam to put together..real easy and fast... Maybe we can cross hit each other as you have them pointed southwest and I'm south of you here in Florida. Enjoy them as only DX is going to get better as time goes on. Starface KI4NBE CEF476 CVC14 Ham181 |

How did you mount it? V or H ? I have my Imax for V and use the beam on H. Starface KI4NBE CEF476 CVC14 Ham181 |

It is quite a difference. I can switch from my Antron 99 to the flatside of my beam and point in the direction the skip is coming from and they are all pulled in. It will even drown out the locals sometimes! |

All this talk about beams and the mini review on the sirio 3 element made me deciede to get one. Never ran a beam before so this'll be new to me. I cant go very high with it and as of now i cant even rotate it becase guy wires on the pole for the imax-2000. It wont get here till tuesday or so, just orderd it today. |

Guys shouldn't get in the way if you mount it flat and put the imax just above it. I'm going to put my 4 element sirio up on my higher tower with imax just above it and put a 2 meter antenna on the other tower. Anyway give the updates on how you went about it and post pic's. I have my beam post in my members pic area. Look luck, 73 Starface KI4NBE CEF476 CVC14 Ham181 |
