i got a scanner of my buddys and it works fine ! but the power goes out you have to reprogram it ! its a Uniden BC 560xlt ! anyone know anything about this peice of junk ? Thanks !! Allagator

Gator, look in the rear left hand corner with it facing away from you.forget the part# but look for a 6.3v/1farade capacitor(think that the right value)it more than likly is bad. tech291 cef#291 kc8zpj

Does it use a battery for memory retention? The battery might just need to be replaced. It's an older model and quite a few of that vintage used batteries for memory retention. Look to see if there is a battery compartment. My brother had a BC-760 mobile scanner and I think it used a 9v battery for memory, and i'm pretty sure it's a newer model. |
