Capt_hook, I really can't say as I have never used one yet. HOWEVER, I do have a Dee Ultimate DE-1000-3 here in the Box. I will hook it up tomorrow and let you know how it checks out. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Capt_hook, #1 ~ Impressive looking Meter 12 x 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 (WxHxD #2 ~ Comes with Stereo Headphones and Power Supply included. #3 ~ 3 Large 2.74" Illuminated Meters / MODULATION/RF POWER/SWR #4 ~ Internal Audio Amplifier with 30 ohm output #5 ~ 10W/100/1000 W scale Checking it against the WM-1 it was just slightly off on 100W and 1000W power scale. SWR Meter was dead on out of box. I liked the Large Style control knobs. Better looking / style than the Dosy Meters but BIG. Thats all folks. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Truckerdon, I checked ours with the WM-1 and then just carried a little mobile meter in the truck. If I found problems I would swing by the yard and fix it before heading out again. Finally I got tired of that and had the coax and mounts for an Extra Anttron A-17 on the Mirrors and just took the antenna off and carried it in the truck as a spare if anything happend to the other antennas. Then all I had to do was screw it on and keep going. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Palstar makes a nice mobile meter. It's the WM150M. It has a remote hookup so you don't have to run coax to the main meter. It has a wire from it to the remote. I ran one on the dash in my 660 Volvo till I got out of it, now I run it in my shack at home. |

just what i have in my mobile, jellybean. under 10 watts is hard to read, but really not neccessary in the mobile as i turn power to zero, amp on & adjust variable on radio up til i have amp carrier where it should be. at 100 watts carrier i see almost ZERO reflect, at 300, less then 6 coming back. and the remote connects right to the back of the amp with an amphenol barrel connector-NO MESSY jumpers running all over the place. the autek wm1 is a great choice as well, but the cable is a bit short |

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I had a 2970DX into an 6 pill so it wasn't a problem with the low watts. Barrel connector, never thought of that. That would make a nice clean install. I did compare it with the Bird 43P I had at the time and it was right with it. I guess it's not a good one trying to set 1 1/2 watts on it since it only shows 0, 5, 10 on the low side. |
