Any one shed some light of this antenna? I spoke to a guy using one. He said it was around 18'tall like an A99 and it wasnt the indoor type that Firestik sell now. Guess it was a now discontinued oldie? Any info appreciated.TNX 73 Tim 26OP141 |

Are you talking about the "Fireup" upgrade? It replaces the top element on the Antron or Imax. |

Nope was defo a 18 footer like the A99. Think he said it had the tuning rings to?? |

26_op_141, from what i can recall it hit the market around 1990.it is 3 sections and does have the tuning rings like tha a-99.it sold for around $30 U.S. as an alternitave to the higher priced Big Stick.It worked/proformed so-so for what it was.Much to flimsey to my liking.also only seen them in an orange/red color. tech291 CEF#291 kc8zpj

Just caught up with the guy who owns it on air. He says it has 3 sections and does not have tuning rings like A99. However he said its helically wound like a mobile firestick and you tune it the same, ie cuting the top. Tech 291 you were right its lighweight. The guy is gunna take it portable this weekend on top of a hill on his quad bike and errect it portable. He will be on 27.535 USB at 13.00 Hours GMT > for anyone who wants more info. I wonder why firestick stopped production? Tim |
