Yup. You will be VERY pleased with that setup. I forget what rotor you will be using? I have another antenna (actually double antenna) on the mast above my whitelightning so I went with a Yaesu 800 rotor that will handle 17sq ft of antenna load. |

I have to hold off on purchasing a White Lightning & rotor this year. Next summer I will get it for sure./ My wife was recently diagnosed with Lupus, Fibromyagia, & a series of other illnesses. She had to quit her job & things are alttle tough right now, money-wise. Investing money in her health is top 1 at the present time. JIM |

Jim real sorry to hear that. My daughter has CP and Dr. bills cut deep into the family budget from time to time so I do understand. Family first though is the only way. I was checking out your equipment and you have some very nice stuff to enjoy until you are able to get that beam. Take care. Barry CEF335 |

when you build them be sure to coat the fiber glass with a few coats of non metalic paint or a good clear coat to help them last a bit longer. and if you can weld the stubs to the boom this will keep them from getting "wallard out" in time from wind vibration. that propane torch welding kit would work well here. do this and youll love those beams and theyll give you good 11 meter service. |

One thing you may want to consider, since you live in NJ. Is the weather. Quad antennas are great in temperate zones, however in NY/NJ high wind and ice storms can make havoc with the wires on these, and they can easily be destroyed during a harsh winter. If you do decide to put one up like the SE design, make sure you use it in the diamond configuration and not the square configuration. Crossed yagi types to not have this problem since there are no wires to worry about. |

All of the SE Quads are designed to be assembled in the DIAMOND configuration. As for Ice I had rougly 4 inches on Tower/Rotor/Coax and Beams last winter and had to wait 4 days before I could even turn them and NO PROBLEMS or broken wires. All of the SE Wires are Pre-cut to Exact Length and Coated and come with pre-installed Eyelets on the ends for easy assembly. When the ice from the wires started falling off after 4 days some of it was actually 4 inches around and sounded like Bombs hitting the roof. We have had major ice storms and winds in excess of 90 to 100 mph with tornados here and the SE's have never been bothered. It always depends on the Quality and the Materials and Craftsmanship used when making Quads or Any antenna that make the MAJOR difference. Lon Tech808

GOOD Choice!! It is VERY light. Only weighs 20# or less? I could hold the whole thing up in one hand (balanced of course) It's the 'torque' when you turn and it stops. I think you could probably use a heavy duty TV Rotor if its all thats up there, but I use a Yeasu G-800DXA, because I have two other antennas above it. |
