simpleman, i have and use the sx100 meter!! in my opinion, other then (the bird), i dont think there is a better meter for cb out there?? to often ive ask, is this meter, (other kinds), good for use?? over 90% said get a diamond sx100. i did and ill never use another cb type meter agin!! also mfj makes the grandmaster series, which is based on the same setup as the diamond, i have that one also, and its hard to choose which to use on base and or mobil?? huummm.. lol. ive found them to be as accurate as (the bird), or the bulldog meters?? how long will they hold true?? but ive had my sx100 for over a year, and its still reading rite along with (the bird), my freind has!!hope this nickles worth helps somewhat thehobo 274150 am

have had a diamond sx100 for ?? yrs now, only problems a 'legal' cber may find is that it needs at least 20 watts dead key to calibrate and get an swr reading. of course i don't have that problem(just a little bragging-easy there guys) and vs the dosy i recently chucked out the door, the wattage is sometimes considerably less, which one had the problem-don't know/doesn't matter, but i love to say my ???? is keying/swinging x watts when the other guy is claiming his dosy says his cobra is doing 25 watts, and his pal 250 is doing 500watts and then i SMOKE him!!! love it! |

I've been using the Diamond sx-200, and it's great. Has three ranges. 5w, 20w, and 200 watt. |

I have the sx-600. It will calibrate on HF at just over 1 watt. On VHF and UHF it will calibrate at under 400 mW output. Like the sx-200, it has 5, 20 and 200 watt ranges. They may be a bit small for the amplifier users, but are both good reliable meters. 20 watts to calibrate the sx-100 leads me to believe there is something wrong. I realize the ranges for this model are 30, 300 and 3000 watts. I have a couple of HF meters with ranges of 20, 200 and 2000 watts that had no problem calibrating SWR with 2.5 watts output. just my thoughts |
