I'm still waiting for reply, concerning the maximum dead key a magna-force 350 will take, before the modulation sounds muffled.

the magnaforce 350 takes 5 watts deadkey or less
or 150 watt deadkey out of amp for AM. swing or peak it handles up to 120 watts in and will put
out well over 500 on ssb. it will draw 48 amps
with alot of peak wts goin in, i can only use
mine on low in my sidekick 4wd but its putting
out about 270 wts using a 2950dx and yaesu ys60
meter, they are loud, clean, amps, well worth the
upper financial limits... 2180 tempe dave cef135

Old Pirate, the Magna can be volt 12-20 volts. Xforce doesn't recommend anything past 17v with low reflextion. Anything past 17volts voids the warranty.

Oldpirate.........take my advice.......advice your "Financial Controller" that most price shoppers will buy too small to save money. Then they will sell their item, lose money, then buy what they should have gotten in the 1st place.
Buy the correct sized item the first time.......been there done that. Good Luck.

Thanks for the comments sparkomatic, exactly what I plan to do. I've narrowed the field down to either a Magnaforce 400 or 600, just finding an AC/DC power supply big enough to run it. At the moment the 600 is first choice, will buy it when the financial controller is on vacation.
