well...I guess I'll be the first! Very nice meter. Althought it would be cool if someone made HUGE analogs, this is probably the closest we'll come that covers 1.8 to 30 MHz for the Ham boys. The newer versions have backlit meters, which are nice, but not super bright. The accuracy is typical (+/- 10%), but very easily calibrated if so desired. Also has a remote head, which makes it a bit easier to mount. All in all, a nice swr/watt meter combo that is under $150. If I have anymore to add or anybody has any questions, email me.---73 |

I use one in my Pickup..........was using a Bird 43P but since the 43Ps are going for over $500 now I will not leave one in the truck. I like the accuracy of the WM-1 and the best part is reading SWR without converting or turning dials. The unit's case is built to withstand being run over by a Hummer. I rate it 2nd to the Bird in performance but well above any available CB Wattmeter. |

The downside is if the meter needs repair the customer service is the worst. I will give you an example of their attitude. You buy a brand new car and the engine control processor goes out under warranty. Service Advisor "It can't be the car because these cars are built solid and each one is perfect.....you must have done something to break it. It's your fault because we would never make and sell a defective car!!" Enough said!! Oh, one other thing.....I live 8 miles from where their plant is located in Florida and I couldn't just drop off the meter for repair, I had to SHIP the thing to them. The gal at the Post Office laughed about that one. They fixed it for free but GEEEZZZZ!!!! |
