I read so many good things about the Anttron 305 and it's super performance. I know the company closed for awhile but I remember reading on here that production of these antennas would be happening again soon. Will Copper carry these? Also, how does the 305 compare to the A-99? Is the 305 a 1/2 or 5/8 wave? Thanks, Mikefromms |

Mike, Right now Kenneth the new owner is having problems with finding the fiberglass to make it. When you buy a closed company and try to hook up with the original Distributors it can be a total nightmare. After Anttron closed in Ohio the dealer that did make the fiberglass for some reason is giving Kenneth fits. BUT! as of last night as soon as I get a hold of Kenneth on Monday I think I can solve his problem. He will have the 305's back out as soon as he get's the fibrerglass in hand. On the 8010 he is re-designing it and it also will be back. I will keep you and the Forum posted on progress. Lon Tech808 |

Mike, It is a HAM Antenna that is being re-designed by Kenneth that covers 80 - 10 meters when useing a Tuner. Omni-directional like the 305. Lon Tech808 |

Kc0gxz, Kenny was an Anttron dealer with Frank and Martha like I was before they closed the Anttron Plant in Ohio back on Aug 2nd, 2002. We were lucky that an Anttron dealer bought it and started it back up again. I have not had the chance to meet him as yet but have talked a lot with him and Sammy and have been placing orders. Seem's strange getting boxes from OK instead of OH marked Anttron after all these years. Lon Tech808 |

Curious... Whats so special about the 305? How does it compare to the I max 2000? |

There is nothing 'special' about the 305. Inside the fiberglass, it is almost exactly the same as the A99. On the outside, the fiberglass is better quality and the diameter of the fiberglass radome is larger than the A99, so therefore stronger. Additionally, the A99 is tuned by two threaded rings at the base which you turn together clockwise or counter clockwise to raise and lower them, which in turn raises and lowers the resonant frequency of the antenna. You lock them by force threading them against one another when tuning is complete. The 305 has the same scheme, only it uses an aluminum sleeve held in place by a socket head screw instead of the rings. Finally, the 305 has 3 short 'chemrods' sticking out from the top ferrule of the bottom section which is supposed to increase gain and bandwidth. I found no difference other than changing the tuning a little. Now, with all that said, I did not notice any noticeable on-air difference between the A99 and the 305. The 305 was up for almost 8 months. Last week, the 305 broke. The fiberglass at the bottom of the middle section where it meets the chrome plated brass ferrule failed and the antenna folded. Also, the ferrule at the top of the bottom section has come loose from the fiberglass and wiggles with some force applied. Desperate, the A99 that had been up for almost a year before the 305 was purchased went back up and is doing fine. I do not have an explanation to the failure of the 305. |

I heard some stations running A-99's yesterday and they were getting out very good. Mikefromms |

Ground Plain Kit's for the I-Maxx 2000 will bolt right on to the lower mast/antenna coupling of an Anttron 305, A99, big stick, and they work great too. |
