I run competition amps but all my Class B amps sound HORRIBLE on SSB. The 775 sounds EXCELLENT on SSB and swings to between 400 and 450 pep on AM with a low swing radio(148). Nice amp at a nice price. Very clean amp........not a splatter amp like most comps are.

Comp amps are "class C". Only a few amps today are available class B and do work well for ssb.
Glad that 775 is working well for you. The drive of the non-volted non-hacked 148 is perfect for it.

Good point there 671, the 148 is not a real swinger but with a 2-3 watt dead key and 10-14 watts of swing into those driver pills on the 775V and your smoking.

Sparkomatic, as was stated, comp amps are class C and AM only. If you want an X-Force for SSB have it class B biased or get the Magna Force. If you want better yet get a Joker with regulated AB-1.

I meant Class C amps.........I really don't know the difference between B and C other than C's sound awful on SSB. I was told that in B vs C biasing the B bias produces less performance than a Class C......that is about the extent of my knowledge of biasing. I am also biased in Fords over Chevys.......now that concludes my knowledge bias.
