Was wondering about the D1104. How does it compare to the Silver Eagle? Nice looking but does it have that strong crisp audio of the Eagle? |

I assume you are referring to the Astatic 1104C microphone. I have one that I use regularly. I bought it on eBay and fixed it up. It really just needed a good cleaning inside and out. The element was fine, though. It compares very well to all of the D-104s I have, according to a number of on-air reports I've received on it over the past few weeks. One thing I like about the 1104C is its tone control ability. I can adjust the microphone's tone output such that when it is set to treble I sound more like I'm on a typical D-104. When set all the way toward bass, I tend to sound more like Astatic's 10-DAL dynamic element. Folks on the other end tend to like the treble setting if they are farther away and the bass setting if they are closer to me. Keep in mind that the 1104C uses a ceramic element and not a crystal element like the D-104. Overall, I think the 1104 is a good mic for the price. Adam |

I just did a comarrison radio check using a D-104 special and my 1104-C and was told the 1104-C sounded better. That after adjusting it using the tone control it had a richer sound than my D-104 Special (Chrome and Black mic) |

I found out the battery in the D-104 needed to be replaced, and after replacing the battery I was told the D-104 sounded better. But I read somewhere that so many people are used to hearing the D-104, other mic's are at a dissadvantage. I really like my 1104-C for a number of reasones. |

I have an 1104c, and like it alot. I run it on my Roadpro Titan II mobile (low power clone of Magnum-257). Sounds just like a Kenwood HF set! |
