I get about 325- 400 on am channel 20. Depending on how I drive it. Mine runs the 1407's not the mrf422's so its 25 watts less for each pill. Nice amp though, but not 500 unless you have the 422's in it and driving it like a bat out of hell. |

ok, on the 550 klv, ive had mine for over 3 years, it still does around 575 on ssb swing,. i drive mine with a 2527, that dks 2 watts swings to 35+. on ssb, ive seen 45+ on the swing, all of these years of using this pep from the radio has not hurt it so far. it has the 422 pills in it. its also a clean amp, as ive not noticed any thing on my tv, which is only 5 feet away from all of my amps, and all of them are klvs!!! normally i only use the 1st power setting for ssb, this gives me 250+ on the swing, i use the 2nd power setting for am, and it gives me 275 to 300 on swing.. ok, hope me and the nickle helped some???? lol.. the hobo 274150 am cqhobodx@aol.com |

hobo Thank you very much and also to you to Taz, Hobo that was very nice and to the point and gives me a very good understanding of what the amp can do on ssb, I would see three different figures in different places on this amp and different amount of watts or pep out, thank you again. I do have a Palomar skipper base 250 blueface, that I purchased about 6 months ago, but you know how it goes. |
