I have a mag-mount Wilson 500 that I've been happy and impressed with. I haven't had it very long, but I do like it so far. |

I have heard that the whip is the best , but not everyone can use it because of the 102" length. so if you can't use the whip go with what Barefoot said (wilson 500,1000,5000) |

i did a test between a 102 ss whipand a 5 1/2 foot francis. talking to someone about 12 miles away i switched antennas on the side of the road.i don,t know about tx but the francis was better on receive. they must get out pretty good because i can talk 30 miles mobile to mobile on a barefoot pc 122. |

I have a roof(hole drilled) mounted Wilson 5000 on my pickup and it works way better than a steel whip mounted on the Tool box. The Wilson is low wind load and nice looking too. This roof mount gets out noticably better than the Wilson 5000 mag mount it replaced. |

I have tried out lots of antennas that people have raved about over the years however I always end up returning to my old KW7 Firestick when I get tired of playing around and want to get back to some serious 27mhz DX. The KW7 talks a good ground wave also. Have had several 150+ mile contacts every now and again on those special nights when things just get rolling along. |

Hello Team I am getting good results with a Wilson 1000. It is a descrete, low noise antenna and also is not a : LOOK HERE I AM A CB ANTENNA FOR YOU TO VANDALISE I have made many local, backscatter and DX contacts.I had to modify the base of the stinger mast by adding a 4inch extension to bring it on the New Zealand CB Frequencies, 26Mhz. Pros:Cheap to purchase, in your country that is. Low wind resistance, well contructed, flexable, easy to remove from vehicle Covers 40Channels. Cons:Floppy stinger, narrow bandwidth if you wish to work freeband or 10Metres.Stinger heats up under QRO.Requires specialised mount SO239. Overall I would it a rating of 8 out of 10. I have used other antennas but this is my choice at the moment.Cheers 73 Kiwi Kid |

The best mobile antenna I have ever used is a 7 foot tall firestik mounted in the center of the roof with one of those magnetic mounts with the 4 , five inch diameter magnets for super holding power ! |

Baby 55 antenna, mounted on a 3-pad tri-magnet mount on the roof. Coax is RG-58. My two amps are the Palomar 450HD AB-1, and the Red Devil 350HD. The Wilson 5000 Trucker (center load) is my back up antenna. Compared to my Wilson 5000 Trucker, the Baby 55 Coil Antenna, makes me feel like a "Blind man that has suddenly been given sight". Im impressed!!! |

I run a 102" whip on my truck, mounted in the center. Swr are 1.2 to 1 and i can talk locally or skip. It does sit pretty high in the air but with the swivel ball I can lower it to gain access to low clearance areas. I have even made a home made base antenna with a 102", When using it, I can talk nation wide. Just wanted to share my input. thanks. AZKid |
