Dale, I use to run one on my Freightliner. And I loved it. It gets out very, very well. I could talk an easy 25 miles with just a barefoot radio. I've often talked 50 miles or more. It sure works better than my Wilson 2000. And YES it came from Copper over 10 years ago. And at the price I paid $17.99 just made it better. But I don't think you can find a better antenna at any price! And I still have it and it still looks & works like new. I feel it's a Great antenna that does everything you want and need in a antenna. |

Dale, mine is a single coil antenna. The shaft is 9" below the coil, Coil is about 6", 8" above the coil. Total lenth of mine with a 1:2 on Ch 19 is 62". And they have the 3/8-24 thread mount (Standard for truck mirror mount). The 3000 has 1 coil and the 2000 has 2 coils. I know that everyones set is not the same. But in 2001 I put one on my son in-law's new van. Along with a RCI2950(NO AMP). And his first contacts was 30 miles away. But his 2nd was in Chicago IL. He soon found out how far you can get out with the right antenna and a good radio. These contacts were on AM. Not SSB. And he has made many friends out in radio land with this cheap little set-up. He still runs it today. And it still gets out 30-50+ miles. I think they work good. I would recommend it to anyone. With a good radio you should be heard for many more miles over some of the other antennas out there. And I've use many bands & models. But this and Skip Shooter 4.5 foot work better than alot of the others I own. |
