Which one would be better for local? It'd be replacing a solarcon 99 mounted on a metal pole, about 30 feet up at the base or so. |

i'd lean towards the aluminum sirio, but the maco v5/8 is the real preference. |

Given a choice between the two you mention, the Imax. Hands down. If you can broaden the field, the Maco V-5/8. |

having owned both and used both i like the sirio much better.my 2016 has better rx than the imax it replaced at same height,coax,ect.mostly cause it dont pick up as much static as the fiberglass antennas seem prone to.alumin over fiberglass anyday dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

I own a 2016 , have had it for a over a year now. Low noise, good swr 1 to 1, and a great performer. I have had 2 Maco 5/8, they are a struggle to get the swr down and assemble, and over 70 mph winds they bend. REVPO/CEF795 73 REVPO/DOCTOR/CEF 795 Wavin a hand from the cornfields of INDIANA
