619:First off they have Uniden boards and the quality of the parts and assembly was fantastic.You could max out and modify these radios without worry of over driving the internal components.Some of these radios are still in service and still very loud and clear. |

vernonott, 181, i found one of these in the thrift store for $6.95 it has a cracked s/rf meter and is pretty scratch up but i plan to restore it .thanks for answering my question. 73's 619 |

619, Since that radio is built on the "DX" chassis you may be able to get new covers for it to make it look new. I have seen chrome ones even, but the black are plentiful as well. The meters are a dime a dozen and you should be able to find one as well. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

tech181, i have ordered a meter and newer looking face plate, i should get them next week. the covers are not all that bad. but i will look for them at the next local ham fest. thanks for your help. 619 |

619;Vernonott is right the cobra's that have the mic on the side are the ones to get.this is what i run in front of a texas star modulator.it sounds clear and very loud!!!! |
